Apple pays Arm less than 30 cents per chip: Report

Apple licenses chip technology from Arm, paying the least among smartphone chip customers. Revenue from Apple is half that of Arm's top two customers, Qualcomm and MediaTek. SoftBank, Arm's parent company, unsuccessfully tried to renegotiate the deal with Apple. Apple plans to explore RISC-V, an open-source technology, as a long-term alternative to Arm.
